Haze The Movie is it Good Alcohol Training for College Students?

Binge drinking, loud parties and trying out different alcohol drinks are all part of the college phase. However, many college students are not sure where to stop or what to do when it comes to alcohol. They get so caught up in the thrill of it that they start to binge drink and often times can develop alcoholism or other illnesses that are caused by alcohol.

As a way to combat that colleges have started what is known as alcohol training. One of the most popular means of alcohol training is that of a college campus showing the movie known as Haze.

Haze is a movie that portrays binge drinking, the horrors that can come from it and what can happen. The documentary traces what happened to Gordie Bailey on a college campus. It shows how he engaged in hazing which involved binge drinking and eventually died from binge drinking gone wrong.

Haze is an attempt by educators to scare straight many college students who are thinking of engaging in binge drinking or other activities that can be harmful to them. But does it really work?

Haze has a lasting impact on many people who see the movie and watch it. However, it rarely had the effect that people want it to. Many students who watch the movie feel as if it is just an attempt to scare students into not drinking and instead will rebel and continue with the activity that they are doing.

These students do not realize that what happened in Haze can happen to anyone, anywhere at any time. As long as they engage in binge drinking it could happen to them. However, students do not believe that they are a part of the problem or it will ever happen to them so they continue to engage in the dangerous activity of binge drinking.”
